SUMIWATARUProfile Sumi Wataru A pianist and composer from Osaka Prefecture. He has over 160,000 subscribers on YouTube and a total of 97 million video views. He began learning classical piano at the age of three, and at eleven, he was deeply impressed by a jazz pianist's performance, subsequently switching to jazz. He studied jazz piano under Hideki Kon. He began performing while attending Osaka University of Arts, and has since studied at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York, performed in theme park shows, provided backing music for theatrical productions, and played in hotels and restaurants, among other diverse settings. He has also gained attention for appearances on programs such as MBS's "Miki BASE" and Fuji TV's "TEPPEN: The Ultimate Piano Competition in the Entertainment World." His activities are wide-ranging, including arranging and performing piano pieces for commercials. In 2025, he will embark on a 16-show nationwide live tour. He is a highly skilled pianist with experience winning national piano competitions three times. With arrangements and improvisations interspersed, fingers traverse the keyboard freely, sometimes intensely, sometimes gently, creating unique melodies. The passionate performance is captivating, and can be best described as "sound dancing."
