sekimaru presents kotonekuto was born out of real-life experiences of overcoming a fierce battle with illness, creating works filled with love and hope.
On February 3, 2021, life changed in an instant with the sudden diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. This marked the beginning of a long and grueling fight against the disease.
Up to the present day, I have faced multiple relapses and undergone three bone marrow transplants, supported by generous donors from the bone marrow registry.
Throughout five years of battling illness, I came to deeply realize two things: the preciousness of life and the truth that no one is ever truly alone. My family, dear friends, and countless messages of support and encouragement from people on social media became the driving force that helped me endure the hardest times.
From this experience arose the desire to capture and share the emotions of patients, the gratitude toward family and loved ones, and heartfelt appreciation for everyone who supported me.
During my hospital stays, I began writing lyrics, and from that, the albums tsunagu (with six songs) and Thank You for the Smiles (with three songs) were born.
These albums, filled with love and gratitude, are my heartfelt messages to the world.
May they reach your heart as well.
