XILA
XILA

Artist Profile

XILAIt all began in 2004, in Amerikamura, Osaka. At that time, to rise up, you needed money, power, and reliable comrades in a fierce environment where "you couldn't be a rapper unless you were a delinquent." It was in this environment that XILA began his career as a rapper. XILA's words embodied the street reality, dreams, pain, love, and rebellion itself. His style of raw expression of street truths garnered tremendous support from many fans. In 2009, his burning spirit led him to a place of trial. He was arrested and incarcerated as a member of a large-scale cannabis organization. However, this did not break him. On the contrary, "Deep Green feat. CHEHON," which was born during his incarceration, became a powerful track that vividly conveyed his struggle. This track expresses the hardships and battles he experienced in a raw yet beautiful way, becoming a work that deeply resonates with many listeners. XILA's rap is the authentic voice of the street. Like graffiti, it's boldly painted yet meticulously expresses reality. His flow riding the baseline has the gravity of a hopping lowrider that stirs the soul. XILA is not just a rapper. He is a street poet, a philosopher, and his music reaches many people as the voice of the era. His activities will surely continue. His sound, which conveys the essence of street culture and the purity of delinquent culture, is a unique presence in today's hip-hop scene, and remains one to watch in the future.
