Shigetaka IkemotoBorn March 12, 1996 in Hyogo Prefecture.
Graduated from the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Keio University
At university, he was a member of the Keio University Light Music Society, where he served as concertmaster for about three years and won the top prize (1st place) at the YAMANO BIG BAND JAZZ CONTEST for three consecutive years.
He participated in the Takuya Kuroda Group and Junko Onishi presents'THE ORCHESTRA'
He is currently active in Tokyo with his own large ensemble 'isles' and quintet.
'isles' released their first mini-album 'Oath' in July 2023 and held a release live at Marunouchi COTTON CLUB. The second COTTON CLUB performance on April 14, 2024 was sold out and a huge success. In July of the same year, he performed with seven-time Grammy Award winner Maria Schneider, and in April 2025, he released his leader quintet's debut album 'Flip the Switch' from Days of Delight.
In terms of support, he has participated in recordings for Ikimonogakari and Mone Kamishiraishi, as well as MISIA's various tours and King Gnu's stadium tour.
