MATSUBAMATSUBA is a rhythm unit formed by Edanoshin Katsura, a Kamigata Rakugo storyteller carrying on the tradition of Kansai's performing arts, and Lewo Chyba, a computer musician active in underground Techno scenes worldwide.
Their unique music production method harmonizes the linguistic rhythm and cadence inherited from Rakugo with the electronically controlled beats of Techno.
In their live performances, Edanoshin Katsura takes the mic while Lewo Chyba skillfully manipulates the synthesizer.
The units name is derived from Shofukutei Matsuba, a Rakugo performer who once thrived in the Kamigata region.
