Born in 2000 in Oita City, Japan, Ryumei Edatsugi began playing the trumpet in middle school and developed a passion for jazz during high school. While still a student, he performed with professional musicians across Japan, gaining media attention and being featured in programs such as Documentary Kyushu.
After graduation, he traveled solo through the United States and Germany, joining sessions and exploring the international music scene. Upon returning to Japan, he began composing to express his unique musical vision, contributing to various projects in jazz, hip-hop, and pop.
Since 2022, he has been studying composition at Oita Prefectural College of Arts and Culture, under Keita Matsumiya and Yoshihiko Shimizu. His works include 14 original pieces, a TV commercial, and 11 ambient tracks for exhibitions and retail spaces.
