HibikillaHIBIKILLA is a reggae and dancehall artist originally from Ebetsu, Hokkaido, and now based in the Kanto region of Japan.
He began his music career as a teenager, and in 2004 his breakout single Hyakuretsuken became a sound clash anthem, reaching No. 1 on the Cisco Records 7 inch singles chart.
Between 2006 and 2009, HIBIKILLA consistently released four albums: No Problem, Nokou Minzoku, LIFE, and BE FREE. In 2011, he independently produced and released his fifth album FREEDOM BLUES, featuring Saiaku no Jitai, a track widely recognized as one of the defining works of Japanese language reggae. The album received the Best Album Award from Music Magazine and further established HIBIKILLA as one of the leading figures in Japans reggae scene throughout the 2000s.
After taking time away from music to focus on raising his family, HIBIKILLA returned with renewed momentum. In 2020, Kono Sekai featuring DABO reached No. 1 on the iTunes Store Japan Reggae Singles Chart. His collaboration Wha Gwaan Midnight featuring Tach-B and Zukie later became the most played reggae track of the year worldwide on the Web3 music platform Audius.
In November 2023, HIBIKILLA released his first full length album in 12 years, KillerTune, which debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Store Japan Reggae Albums Chart.
In 2024, he competed in the DeeJay Clash event Combat, earning widespread attention for his outstanding performance and original songs in the preliminary rounds.
In 2025, he produced the one way compilation album Crab Inna Barrel Riddim, a showcase project highlighting the next generation of reggae artists.
In 2026, HIBIKILLA continued to expand his online presence, with Gyaku ni Flip di ting earning more than 3700 likes on Instagram Reels, while several other releases also achieved four digit engagement and repeated viral success.
Rooted in sound system culture and refined through years of live Rub a Dub performances, HIBIKILLA continues to prove that authentic skills, powerful stage presence, and timeless vibes never fade.
