Artist Profile

RAM HEADRAM HEAD is a reggae artist from Otaru, Hokkaido. Influenced by music from an early age through his mother, he began performing acoustic street live sessions in his hometown of Otaru before being deeply impacted by the dancehall reggae movement that was taking over the world at the time. This led him to begin his career within the reggae scene. After traveling to Jamaica to experience the culture firsthand, he later relocated to Osaka, where he built his name through years of performing in underground venues and events. With his smooth and warm vocal style alongside lyrics that capture raw human emotion, RAM HEAD gradually gained recognition within the scene. In 2012, he broke through nationally with tracks such as Yatte Yanze, produced by longtime ally 774, and VIVID COLOR on STEP UP RIDDIM. That same year, he appeared at HIGHEST MOUNTAIN, one of Japans largest reggae festivals at the time, drawing over 15,000 attendees, further solidifying his presence within the Kansai reggae scene throughout the 2010s. As the scene and times continued to evolve, RAM HEAD consistently remained active through guest appearances and releases while continuing to refine his unique style. In 2026, he reunited with RED SPIDER for Be Alright, their first collaboration since one of his signature songs, Im Gonna Be Free. With words and melodies shaped by years of experience, he continues to gain support from a new generation of listeners.
