A native of Kyoto, Tatsuya Dejima began his solo career in 1988 and made his major-label debut with Polystar Records in 1999. He is a singular instrumental artist who constructs a solitary yet captivating musical world. At the core of his expression are his unparalleled two-hand tapping technique, through which he manipulates the guitar with piano-like precision, and his ethereal bowing technique utilizing a violin bow. His exceptional virtuosity and innovative approach completely redefine the conventional concepts of both electric and acoustic guitar, painting cinematic soundscapes that evoke the depth of a full orchestra.
Dejima's artistic philosophy is deeply rooted in the fusion of science and art. He spearheads his lifelong project, "Mathematical Love," which sublimates the worldviews of complex systems sciences, such as chaos theory, quantum mechanics, and dissipative structures, into music and art. He continuously transmits the emotions and harmonies hidden within universal equations from a multidisciplinary perspective, weaving them through both sound and narrative (including published novels).
