Rebirth of the soulRebirth of the soul is a musical group formed in 2017 by two men in their rather mature years, Kazuki Sekine, the composer and keyboardist, etc. and Toshiaki Watanabe, the lyricist and vocalist.
We have produced a short album this time around, with Watanabe choosing 5 tunes from the many that Sekine has written over the years and putting words to the music.
A relaxed, laid-back feel of the tunes and the love songs for mature people that could make listeners feel a tad nostalgic set the tone for this album.
"Rebirth of the soul," the group's name, came about because of the members' love and respect for the pop music, R&B and soul music that influenced us in the 1970's, and because two guys in their 60's envisioned going back once again to the starting point of our creative endeavors.
