Debuted in 1980 with "Hiroshima Tengoku" and "Ame no Minato kara."
Based in his hometown of Hiroshima, he sang many Hiroshima songs, including the 1996 Hiroshima songs "Bojo no Machi" and "Hiroshima Kakurenbo," and "Sore Ike Carp."
He received the "2010 Hiroshima Citizen's Award" from Hiroshima City, along with former Hiroshima Toyo Carp pitcher Kenta Maeda, and was appointed "Special Ambassador for Hiroshima City (Hiroshima Cultural Ambassador)."
