Artist Profile
Lizard KissesSince getting together and recording their first EP late in 2010, Cory Siegler and Marc Merza have kept themselves busy as Lizard Kisses - releasing two cassettes (Cakes & Tapes), a single on Beko DSL, two split 7″s (with Florist and My Friend Wallis respectively), a beautiful four track EP entitled Loving Creatures (Wee-Pop Records), a 7" single "In The Morning/Close" with Bleeding Gold Records and a few digital singles. As serious DIY adepts, the Brooklyn duo doesn't only craft songs, but are involved with every aspect of their releases making each copy a treasure to behold - silkscreened covers, hand-pressed tapes, unique collaged collaborations - you name it, they have probably done it. The band spent most of 2013 - 2014 to assist former collaborator Jordan Lee and his brainchild Mutual Benefit release the critically acclaimed Love's Crushing Diamond. By starting a small record label, Soft Eyes, Lizard Kisses performed and pressed the album, and spent some time on the road playing a supporting role in his project. Lizard Kisses is Cory Siegler and Marc Merza, with various participants. Live and in recording they are frequently joined with collaborators Jake Falby, Jonnie Baker and John Hunter. Lizard Kisses has become a platform for expression, documenting their collaborations with friends - the people they are most inspired by. The project is a catalyst to help build friendships and bonds, empower themselves and others to know they have a voice. All roads lead to home. Independent of path, the songs all emerge contemplative, languid, and satisfying. Not Seeing Is A Flower, being released by Dead Funny Records in Japan, is a collection of new live songs, unreleased, and demos.
