Artist Profile
samayuzameSelf-taught in DTM from the age of 14, she began her musical career on platforms such as Niconico Douga. She started out in earnest as a singer-songwriter in 2018 and graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2021. Today, she handles every aspect of her work herself, from songwriting, composition, and arrangement to branding and music video production.
Her specialty is mysterious, dark music rooted in electronica, which she calls "Melancholic Art Pop." Beyond her exceptional skills in composition and arrangement, the fragility and strength of a resolute woman living in the modern age, wordplay that is both violent and beautiful, and meticulously crafted sound draw listeners into an unsettling, bewitching world.
She also works as a music creator under the name Itoi toe. As head of cocoon records, the label behind both identities, she creates original works that refuse to be bound by the "conventional." Her credits include songs written for Isekaijoucho and Haru Nemuri, scores for feature films, and soundtracks for video games, with her work spanning a wide range of genres.
