Toki AsakoA singer born in Tokyo in 1976.
She debuted in 1997 as the lead vocalist of the band Cymbals and launched her solo career following the groups disbandment in 2004. She garnered significant attention with songs such as How Beautiful(2009) featured in a Uniqlo commercial in which she also appeared and Gift Anata wa Madonna(2011), the theme song for Shiseidos Elixir Superieur campaign.
Her latest album, Lonely Ghost, was released in December 2024. She is also actively engaged in songwriting for other artists, penning lyrics for acts such as V6, JUJU, SKE48 Team KII, Ken Miyake, Penthouse, and Mitsuki Takahata.
Active as a voice specialist, she works on commercial music, guest appearances on other artists tracks, narration, and hosting roles for TV and radio programs, as well as the podcast Konna Hanashi ga Shitakatta Tokisan to, Meily to, Diana to.
She is also active as a writer, contributing essays and columns including the Music Natalie series Asako Toki Presents: Otona no Numa Watashitachi ga Hamaru KPOP (Adult Obsession The KPop We're Hooked On), which explores the appeal of KPop from various angles.
She marked the 20th anniversary of her solo career in 2024.
