Matsuzaki KunioKunio Matsuzaki
Composer & Arranger
Born in Kochi, Japan, Kunio Matsuzaki graduated from the Music Department of Kochi Marunouchi High School and later earned a degree from the Faculty of Music at Kurashiki Sakuyo University.
His works have been performed by leading ensembles including the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Kobe City Chamber Orchestra, Zoosasian Brass, and Alto de Campagne, as well as numerous distinguished soloists.
As an arranger, he participated in the NHK Music Festival series Symphonic Gamers (2016-2019, 2025; Vols. 1-5), which was broadcast on NHK BS Premium. In 2017, he held a solo exhibition in Okayama Prefecture, and in 2024, he received the 9th Gratia Music Award.
His activities span a wide range of genres, including contributing as an assistant arranger to works by Japanese singer-songwriter Kenji Ozawa. As a performer, he has also appeared in numerous concerts with ensembles such as the Nagaokakyo Chamber Ensemble.
He studied violin under Yasue Miyauchi and the late Yuko Mori. He is a self-taught composer and arranger.
