MASATOMO OKUMURABorn in Osaka in 1980 grew up surrounded by the chaotic culture of the city where music was always a part of everyday life
At the age of 30 he began his journey as a vocalist in a band and as a grassroots DJ at local venues under the name TOMO DJ
Bringing his own equipment he developed a unique style that prioritizes the mood of the moment and his own feelings over experience or technical skill
His sets mainly feature popular J POP K POP and classic dance music and he describes himself as just a guy playing the songs he likes rather than a technically skilled DJ
Yet his seemingly random selections often synchronize naturally with the atmosphere of the floor creating a strong sense of unity
In recent years he has been inspired by AI technology and has started producing music using his own voice as material
By incorporating processed and transformed vocals he explores a more experimental sound that contrasts with his relaxed DJ style
Rather than trying to be perfect he values enjoyment moving freely between the dance floor and technology as he continues to play the sounds he loves somewhere today
