ICONAICONA
ICONA is a Tokyo-based electronic trio consisting of Shinichiro Ohta (Vocals), Hiroyuki Sonobe (Keyboards), and Tohto Arai (Producer/Keyboards).
The band approaches music, visual expression, and artistic aesthetics as inseparable elements of a single creative identity. Inspired by the spirit of synth-pop, new wave, and post-punk, ICONA reinterprets these influences through a contemporary perspective rather than simply recreating the past.
Combining refined electronic production, expressive performances, cinematic atmospheres, and meticulous sound design, ICONA creates emotionally resonant works that explore universal themes including memory, distance, beauty, and human connection.
Produced in collaboration with Yasuo Kimoto, the band's music balances technical precision with emotional depth, while its visual direction forms an essential part of the overall artistic concept. Every release is conceived as an integrated work in which sound and imagery complement one another.
Since its debut on June 1, 2026, ICONA has been featured by several independent international music media, including POST-PUNK.COM, DISTOPIC (Italy), Skreen B Music Blog (United Kingdom), and Rock'n'Roll Vibration (Brazil), continuing to expand its presence beyond Japan.
