aniccaanicca is a personal project by Aoyama Taro, a bassist, composer, arranger, and manipulator.
The name anicca comes from a Buddhist term meaning impermanence, and true to its meaning, the project is defined by music that never settles in one place, constantly shifting and evolving according to imagination and intuition.
Drawing heavily from funk, jazz, and soul, genres deeply rooted in Aoyama Taro's musical background, anicca weaves these influences into pop oriented compositions. The resulting body of work spans a wide range of styles and expressions, offering listeners a rich and varied listening experience.
In principle, Aoyama Taro handles every aspect of production himself, including songwriting, composition, arrangement, programming, performance, mixing, and mastering. At the same time, he collaborates with guest musicians on a project by project basis, further expanding the scope and texture of the music.
