uMa began musical activities in 2005 with three members: Akiko Hayashi, Itaru Kamiyama, and Shuhei Shima.
In 2015, Mugiho P. Kenmochi joined, forming the current four-member lineup.
uMa creates emotionally resonant music through the fusion of Akiko Hayashi's clear and pure vocals, lyrics and melodies that express a unique worldview, Mugiho P. Kenmochi's delicate and emotionally stirring guitar work, Shuhei Shima's embracing and steady bass, and Itaru Kamiyama's spontaneous yet unifying guitar.
