WATER WATER CAMELWATER WATER CAMEL is a Japanese rock band that formed in 1995. The band consists of junior high school classmates; Saito Camel (vocal, guitar and songwriting), Gen Tanabe (guitar, ukulele, banjo and effects) and Hisashi Suto (wood and electric bass).
Since being teenagers, they have independently recorded and produced each of their albums in their home studio. They have also planned various events across Japan and built strong connections with people and places.
Through their steady independent activities, they have created their own network all over Japan.
Live performances often take place at unique locations such as botanical gardens, temples, schools or bookstores.
As well as making music together, each member participates in creative side projects.
Saito Camel owns a cafe in Fukuoka, Japan as well as producing songs for TV commercials.
Gen Tanabe is a recording engineer and has worked for many Japanese bands, colaborating and recording. He also produces songs for television and Web pages.
Hisashi Suto plays with other musicians as a professional bass player, and makes audio cables which are used for their album recording.
