Artist Profile
ToputuToputu is a Kansai-based duo consisting of a composer and a vocalist who is also a painter. Their music brings together a sense of stillness and intensity, imbued with a subtly distorted, fable-like quality. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of genres, including folk, new wave, and world music, their sound resists conventional genre boundaries. From creating their own artwork to developing stage performances incorporating live painting, every aspect of their work is produced by the duo themselves.
