Tomotsugu NakamuraA sound artist based in Tokyo.
He weaves delicate and profound sonic textures using a unique method that simultaneously processes instrumental performance and field recordings. Characterized by a well-balanced blend of electronic and acoustic elements, he has released numerous works on both domestic and international labels.
In the 2020s, three vinyl releases from renowned French ambient labels LAAPS and IIKKI all sold out, earning him notable attention. In 2023, he contributed to micro ambient music, a tribute album to Ryuichi Sakamoto, which received the German Music Critics Award in the Electronic & Experimental category.
In recent years, he has also been involved in sound design for spaces such as galleries and cafés, and has performed quiet live sets under the theme "Music for Reading" at book cafés and libraries.
