Naomi Tamura Naomi Tamura debuted in 1987 with the rock band [PEARL] under the Sony Music label. Moving to POLYDOR/UNIVERSAL in 1994, she soon had the smash hit "EIEN NO ICHIBYO", which was famously used in a Kameria Diamonds TV commercial. The opening theme song for "Magic Knight RAYEARTH Volume 1- YUZURENAI NEGAI(Unyielding Wish)" became a huge hit, staying on the Oricon top 10 for seven weeks and selling one million copies. Her followup, "Hikari to Kage wo Dakishimeta mama" (the opening theme song for "Magic Knight RAYEARTH Volume 2) sold over 700,000 copies. Her other single "All you need is LOVE" is included in "World of Magic Knight RAYEARTH," which released in US. Naomi continues her work with the Anime world. Many fans recognize her distinctive voice in POKÉMON and GET BACKERS. Her album "N'" was 1 on the Oricon Chart in 1995, and she also appeared on the NHK KOHAKU UTAGASSEN show that same year. Naomi's continues to challenge herself to another level of music. In 1997, She formed the Japanese -American combination band "PEARL." Members included world famous drummer Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, Beck Bogert & Appice, Rod Stewart), well-known fretless bass player Tony Franklin (The Firm, Whitesnake, Blue Murder) and legendary Japanese guitar player Kenji Kitajima (Ann Lewis, FENCE OF DEFENCE). With their music, the band reached a new level both musically and technically. In more recent years, Naomi has continued her work with PEARL; in 2007, she released a CD and DVD to celebrate her 20th year, and followed it with a PEARL greatest hits album.
