Shuho Tsuchiya

Born in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi, Japan. She started singing children's songs at the age of 4 and playing the piano at the age of 6. After graduating from Kunitachi College of Music High School of Music, she went on to graduate from the same college with a degree in vocal music. In 2004, she won the first prize in the adult division of the National Children's Song Contest, and was awarded the Gold Medal and the Prince Tomohito Trophy. She was praised for her "singing that is like the origin of children's songs. In 2007, she was invited to the 1st Hermitage Japan-Russia International Art Festival as a Japanese artist. She received the 44th Japan Children's Song Award Special Prize in 2014. In addition to concerts organized and planned by herself, she has performed at nursery schools and elementary schools, concerts at welfare facilities, and as a guest at various gatherings, and has made numerous recordings. She has an established reputation for her easy-to-understand storytelling in her concerts and her "natural, conversational pronunciation" of children's songs and Japanese songs, and her "clear voice that reaches the heart easily" captivates audiences. Currently, she is a lecturer at Tokyo Seitoku Junior College. She is also a tourism ambassador for Fuji-kawaguchiko Town. She also runs "A Shuho Tsuchiya Children's Song Music School" , where many of the children she has taught have performed in musicals and competitions, demonstrating her ability as an instructor as well.
