Masayoshi Tanaka TaikoDrums,Drums and Percussion player Bornin Akita prefecture, northern Japan, at the age of 18 Tanaka began studying musical theory and percussion under world-famous Professor Tomoyuki Okada,Takashi Ueno and Mutsuko Fujii at Senzoku Gakuen University of Music. While absorbing various styles of music, he most deeply impressed by Japanese Taiko-drums. Thus began his professional career as a Taiko-drummer, western drummer and percussionist. Well experienced on avariety of stages, he is widely praised for his colorful and dynamic drumming. Tanaka performed at the Japan-China friendship concert in Beijing , The1stHideyo Noguchi Africa Prize in Tokyo in 2009 and the International Triennale of Contemporary Art in Akita 2012.Accordingly he has acquired a facility with international rhythm, he has also joined many Korean stars shows in Japan. Recently,Tanaka has been active in such a wide variety of artistic fields that they are impossible to categorize, such as studio, session and supporting musician,arranger and musical composer. He performs for tracks for Japanese animation, video games,plays,art appreciationat schools and workshops as well. His command of various drumming styles has made possible collaboration with belly dance, contemporary dance and the other dance performances as he knows no musical borders. Since2008, Tanaka has also run training programs in a kindergarten in Tokyo, given percussion guidance to brass bands and easy listening music clubs in some junior high, high schools and universities.
