JAZZ KLAXON

JAZZ KLAXON is a Tokyo-based 6-piece jazz-funk band led by composer and guitarist Tomoyuki Watanabe. Formation-wise the band is a "klaxonized" version of organ trio having 2 horns and hand percussions. Their sound is first characterized by the combination of addictive melody and jazz-mannered dynamic interplays, but underneath the rather pop surface emerges the band's versatile background when you hear a slightly rock-tasted funky drum beat gets stimulated with west-african rhythmic inspirations while the saxophonists sophisticatedly harmonize each other. Following the tour in Manila in December 2018, the band is releasing "Metro Wilderness" in September 2019, their 2nd full album.
