AYAKO IKEDA

Profile Born in Tokyo. Graduated from the Vocal Music course of Musashino Academia Musicae. Began her musical career in 2002. A singer-songwriter with a unique voice based on classical vocalizations. She cherishes the Japanese sound which is also hearable in her lyrics and melody of her songs. Her world of music that grabs people's hearts and her crystal clear voice keeps making numerous songs across the genre. She has provided her music to numerous TVs, commercials, movies, and artists, and also launched the fantastic music festival "Yakushima Mori Matsuri" since 2006 with candlelight in the forest of Yakushima, a World Heritage Site. She has launched 7 albums and 10 singles so far. "Kazoe Uta (Counting song)", "Uta no Uta (Song of song)", "Hirara Koi Kochou (Flutter Love Butterfly)", "Yume no tochu de (In the middle of a dream)", from NHK Minna no Uta and the music of NHK news program. She has also created a chorus song for elementary school music book, the theme song and the soundtrack of NHKBS Premium "Nippon Longitudinal Heart Trip", the back ground music for JR Kyushu Cruise Train "Seven stars in Kyushu". She provided the theme song of Fuji TV drama "Itsuka Kono Koi wo Omoidashite Kitto Naite Shimau (Love That Makes You Cry)" called "Asu e no Tegami (A letter for tomorrow)" to Aoi Teshima which was awarded for the best theme song at the Tokyo Drama Awards in 2016 which was held by International Drama Festival. In 2018, she provided the song "Anata no Kotoba (Your word)" to Hiroko Yakushimaru who released the original album for the first time in 20 years. In November 2018, she released an original album for the first time in 5 years, which included "Yume no tochu de (In the middle of a dream)", from NHK Minna no Uta, CM songs "Te wo Tsunagu Toki (When hold your hand)" and "Asu e no Tegami (A letter for tomorrow)"
