hwamohwamo is an Osaka-based singer-songwriter with roots in the Korean Peninsula. Growing up with traditional Korean folk music, hwamo became deeply influenced by Black music - including Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Soul - during teenage years, shaping a uniquely cross-cultural musical perspective.
In 2020, hwamo began writing and producing original music during a period of COVID-19 hotel quarantine. After making a live debut at a Hip-Hop event in Kobe in 2022, hwamo has actively performed across the Kansai region, eventually releasing the 7-inch vinyl record "Urokogumo / Same night" in 2025.
Seamlessly weaving through Japanese, Korean, and English lyrics, hwamo combines a mellow vocal delivery with a distinctive groove, capturing shifting emotions and the delicate space between light and shadow.
