In 1999, he made his debut with the band treeberrys. In May 2007, he released his solo album "Secret Melodies" on his own label Wattack Records. Treeberrys is highly acclaimed overseas and has been released in analog form on a German label. Watarai played bass and side vocals on the first three albums, and shifted to guitar on the fourth.
