How I started singing:
After an emotionally healing experience with a doctor in my third year of high school,
I aimed for medical school, but gave up after three failed attempts.
A hole in my heart, a hollow everyday life. Suddenly, with a bag in hand, I headed west. At the end of the coastline, with nowhere to go, I saw a sunset melting into the horizon.
A ribbon of light lit up the water, illuminating me.
At that moment, a song came on from my cassette Walkman, and I felt deeply saved.
I wanted to bring healing to someone through my singing.
I attended a training school while working.
As I wrote lyrics, I added melodies and created songs.
I moved to Tokyo at the age of 40.
A friend encouraged me to stream original songs I'd sung live, and this was my first time doing so.
I hope I can touch your heart, even just a little.
