Hasiken

Hasiken was born in 1968 in Saitama Prefecture. In 1993, he studied traditional folk songs in Okinawa, and made his major debut in 1995, releasing more than 20 albums in Japan. He has been serving as the tourism ambassador of Amami Oshima of Kagoshima Prefecture since 2006. Hasiken composed the soundtrack of the film, "Still the Water," directed by Naomi Kawase, which was officially selected in the main competition section at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. The film was screened in more than 20 countries.
