Artist Profile

Fumio MiyashitaHe is the founder of healing music and a pioneer of Japanese ambient. In the 1970s, he led the legendary progressive rock band [Far East Family Band]. Under the production of German maestro Klaus Schulze, he broadcast a profound and grand Eastern worldview through synthesizers to the world, making a name for himself as a pioneer in the Japanese new age rock scene. Later, through a deep inclination towards ancient wisdom such as Oriental medicine/philosophy, meditation, and the theory of the five elements, he researched music therapy. He established a unique style that precisely fuses the [1/f fluctuations] of sounds flowing in the natural world-which resonate with biological rhythms-with the frequencies of electronic synthesizer sounds. He elevated music into a vibration that harmonizes the mind and body, establishing a style of healing music that regulates the autonomic nervous system and deeply works on the subconscious to enhance self-healing power. His masterpiece, [Meiso (Meditation)], became an exceptional long-selling ambient healing album, recording over 600,000 copies sold. Throughout his life, he deeply pursued the sound of healing, leaving behind many works. These include the [Concert for Sleep] where the audience is comfortably lulled to sleep and immersed in sound unconsciously, dedicated performances at Japan's sacred sites like Ise Jingu, Kashihara Jingu, and Tenkawa Daibenzaiten-sha, and music production for films such as Osamu Tezuka's [Phoenix] and Kadokawa's [Heaven and Earth]. The [cosmic vibrations] spun by Fumio Miyashita offer a true sense of peace, where brainwaves are gently organized, and every single cell begins to breathe deeply. That sound, which stays close to people for sleep, concentration, and meditation, continues to be loved worldwide as a vast archive of over 100 works.
