Chihiro MurataChihiro Murata is a jazz pianist, composer, event organizer, and social worker hailing from Nagasaki Prefecture. She began playing piano at the age of three and majored in social welfare at Oita University, where she transitioned to jazz piano inspired by the university's big band jazz circle. Since then, she has developed numerous initiatives that blend music with community-building, performing in live concerts both inside and outside the prefecture, and collaborating with various artists, including dancers and calligraphers. Recently, she has garnered attention for her arrangements of folk songs through reinterpretation of local culture, improvisational performances, and workshops at welfare facilities leveraging her expertise as a social worker. Chihiro also composes music for domestic and international musicians, performing live across Europe and conducting workshops in Paris. She is currently distributing a series of piano sessions paired with field recordings and original compositions on various streaming services.
