Yuko Hoshizono - Artist Profile (As of August 16th 2020) Classically trained fantasy rock singer-songwriter Yuko Hoshinzono's melodic piano playing and characteristic singing style make her a unique talent. It wasn't until she passed the age of 40 that she became aware of her singing and composition abilities and in 2015, she completed her first song - "Everything." Ever since 2016, she has been active on the Tokyo live scene, often performing online. As a child, Yuko was enchanted by the mystique of Italian opera, leading her to call herself "a composer who sings of the beauty of darkness." Although "light and dark," "life and death," "ying and yang" and "good and bad" appear to be conflicting concepts, Yuko perceives these opposites as neutral and, keeping an open mind, avoids categorizing "good" and "bad." She believes that the presence of both light and dark is completely natural and in spite of a Christian upbringing, has also embraced Eastern philosophy - a balance that characterizes her work. Moreover, having lost her elderly parents in her 40s, Yuko has experienced a sense of things coming to an end and the start of something new. Through this cycle of destruction and reconstruction, she has learned to enjoy life more, always maintaining a strong sense of self. Since 2019, Yuko has operated a service that provides "legacy songs." She composes songs for private clients, adapting their life experiences into a piece of art, allowing them to graduate from their pain and head towards a better life. Such songs heal the hearts of those who hear them - transforming hardship into a priceless treasure. Everyone's experience is a legacy and proof of their existence.
