Yoko MasayamaYoko Masayama is a Japanese singer-songwriter. She formed an organic soul unit "Bard Syrup" while in the university.
Her demo was heard and highly commended by Jeffrey Haynes, who is a percussionist well known for Cassandra Wilson and Pat Metheny's support,
invited her to NY to record the 1st album "Syrup No.1" (universal IMS) .
In 2013, she released her first solo album "Yoko Masayama" from P-Vine Records.
She collaborated with various Japanese Jazz musicians, Jeffrey Haynes and Manouche jazz guitarist, Bruno Jill, in this album.
She also performed as a singer in the movie "Tomei Polar Bear" directed by Ryuichi Hiroki (starring Erika Toda and Gaku Hamada).
In 2016, she released her 2nd album "Sing and Sparkle ~ Tabidachi no Uta" (P-Vine) . Her live performances have been praised by audience and critics.
In 2019, she started working on 3rd album "The Songs for 7 Days" .
This album was recorded with Dr. Kyojun Tanaka (ex.dCprG,),Ba. Yamato Yasuo (BimBomBan Orchestra),Key. Takeru Yamazaki (P.O.P etc.) and other musicians .
Her vocals and the instruments played in the album are joyful in spirit.
This album includes BUMP OF CHICKEN's hit tune "TENTAI-KANSOKU(Astronomical Observatory)", in which she expresses the feeling like floating in deep universe.
She creates unique sounds with flavor of swing jazz, Brazilian music, and Japanese traditional pop songs.
