Tsuyoshi Yamamoto

Born in 1948. Started playing the piano when he was in elementary school. During high school, he was captivated by live performances by Art Brakey & Jazz Messengers, and studied jazz piano on his own. Entered a professional at the age of 19 while in college in 1967. Starting from the group of Mickey Curtis, he traveled while playing the UK and European countries. Record debut in 1974. The large-scale blues feeling and the swinging piano attracted the attention of fans. Since then, many leader albums and co-starring albums have been released by record companies,established the status of a popular pianist. Appeared at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1979 and gained great popularity. After that, he moved to the United States and spent one year performing music in New York. After returning to Japan, he resumed his activity as a house pianist at the live house "Misty" in Roppongi. He is active in various fields, such as in charge of music for the popular TV program "Ryu's Bar".
