Teiko Saito (nee Taira), a jazz singer from Miyako Island, and Teiko Taira, a pianist from Miyako Island, were active as jazz singers in the U.S. occupied Okinawa.
Teiko Saito (maiden name: Teiko Taira), who was active as a jazz singer in Okinawa during the U.S. occupation, and David Matthews, a pianist and arranger who has released many famous songs to the world.
An 86-year-old singer and an 80-year-old pianist, who have released many masterpieces as a pianist/arranger to the world, will perform on two "islands" separated by more than 10,000 kilometers, Okinawa and Manhattan.
Jazz connects these two men who have spent their lives on two separate "islands" over 10,000 km apart, Okinawa and Manhattan.
