Takayoshi Baba

Born in Kyoto. Started playing guitar from the middle school days. In 2004, traveled from New York to Brazil and studied with guitarist Bilinho Teixeira. Focus on Brazilian music such as bossa nova, samba, choro. Winner of the 2005 Gibson Jazz Guitar Contest Best Guitarist Award. Participated in the Masahiro Sayama trio of the second part of "Masahiro Sayama Plays Goldberg Variations" held at Kyoto Concert Hall on November 25, 2006. In 2008, he moved from Kansai to Tokyo. Co-starred with many musicians including Masahiro Sayama, Satoshi Inoue, Masahiko Osaka, Jyoji Sawada. Currently, he is active in a wide range of activities, including his own group, various sessions, recordings and lecturers. On November 20, 2013, the first leader album "GRAY - ZONE" was released on the Song & Co. label.
