Takaya Kawasaki

Takaya Kawasaki is a Japanese singer-songwriter who grew up in Yokohama and Osaka. In 1997, at the age of 21, he traveled around the world and ended up performing an original song at the Apollo Theater in New York City. After returning to Japan, he settled in Tokyo, where he continued to perform live music. In 2005, he collaborated with jazz pianist Yuichiro Aratake and released his first album, "Higashi no Sora (East Sky)" in Japan. In the same year, he moved to New York and in 2008, his second album, "Harukaze (Spring Wind)", which was co-produced by Chris Takita, was released both in the United States and in Japan. He then took a 12-year hiatus from music, but Takaya is set for a comeback in 2020. He is back in the studio and currently working with Aratake on new songs.
