TOMOKOTomoko began playing koto when she was 4, learning from her grandmother and mother, both renowned koto performers. Tomoko received her B.A. in Japanese Music from Tokyo University of Fine Arts. She won the national koto competition in Japan in 1995. She has performed in concert around the world, including the U.K., Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Spain, Korea, Brazil, and the United States. Her repertoire extends from classic to contemporary to fusion. In 1998, she released a CD, "Tomoko's Symbient World," on which she plays koto and Western instruments such as piano and violin.
her repertory is spans a wide range of genres including classical. She began lecturing on Japanese Music at the Fukuoka municipal school in 1999 at the prefecture's education center and went onto lecturing at the Fukuoka University of Education and Fukuoka Women's College.
She had lived in U.S.A from 2007 and moved into Denmark from 2011. now living in Okinawa.
