ROA(Relic Of Ancestor)

7 member shamisen rock band formed in 2015. The music is inspired by Western music, especially US punk, rock, hardcore, alternative and metal, the melody weaves two Tsugaru shamisen (traditional Japanese instruments) with guitar rock to create a harmony with "Wa (Japanese)" and western music. Song lyrics do not only utilize a strong and powerful imagery, but are also based on mixing writing styles of traditional Japanese (vertical, right to left) and western traditional (left to right) creating a gimmick specific to RAO. Previously released 1 mini and 1 full album as well as selling out shows nationwide, with a final sold out show at the end of 2017 at Shibuya Quattro in Tokyo. ROA have embarked on international activities, starting with JAPAN EXPO in France in 2016 & 2018. ROA songs were used as event theme songs in both 2016 and 2018. In 2018, ROA were signed to British label JPU RECORDS (Rin to Rain, Boom Boom Satellites, Denpa Set inc, BAND MAID, SCANDAL, ASIAN KUNG FU GENERATION etc) and will see the overseas release of limited edition full album "RODIAC". ROA will also play a US tour in June and the British HYPER JAPAN in July. In April 2018, ROA joined Onokuwa Co.,Ltd's prodcution company ONOKUWA CREATION to actively create a global music base, focusing on digital marketing and online subscription based services, as well as implementing there street team to reach a wider audience.Using data analysis and operations to create a more sophisticated journey between the fan and the creator. Many of ROA's members are creators outside of the band, creating music for other artists, television theme songs, composing, arranging and recording in a full capacity.
