Norie MukaiShe started playing the flute at the age of 16, and studied at Toho Gakuen College of Music and Drama in Tokyo. She has played in several college concerts, performing solo, ensemble, chamber music and as well as playing with the orchestra. In 2004, she came to England to perform in the Victoria league for Commonwealth Friendship Concert at Australia House in London, as well as to take part in the William Bennett, Clifford Benson and Susan Milan International Master classes. Norie completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Music at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with Jonathan Burgess. After this Norie became interested in historical flutes, and is now a keen of Baroque Flute. She has had her recital on modern flute at Edinburgh festival in St Mary's cathedral. She has organized a concert series entitled "An afternoon of Refinement" flute music from the 17th&18Th century, of which was the first concert in Cardiff. These performances were critically acclaimed and very successful. Norie was a member of London Charity Orchestra, Great Ormond Street Chamber orchestra and London Coma Ensemble. At the moment she moved to Japan and, she is around as a flutist.
