NRG RisingNRG Rising is a mother and daughters' reggae trio. Since their first album release 2011 From Darkness to Light they have been a working touring band, with over 350 signature gigs. They are experienced, musically talented, matured and fried up taking it to the next level. This trio brings a sassy reggae sound infused with RnB showcasing soulful vocals. They are proud Maori, Irish and Pakeha and all three of them wear traditional moko kauae (chin tattoos).
They have opened shows for Third World, played at Raggamuffin, One Love, Exodus and East Coast Vibes, sharing the stage with many international artists, and all of our very own Aotearoa Reggae greats over the years.
NRG Rising toured USA in 2012, 2014, and April 2018. They represented Aotearoa at The Gathering of Nations in the USA and their tour took them to Salt Lake City, Native American Hopi lands, New Mexico, Phoenix, Arizona, California and Las Vegas. They also filmed two music videos while there with Sani Sagala, Dei Hamo directing. Definitely a big year for the passionate family trio.
Having recently release their latest single and RnB 90s influenced track Take Us High, NRG is back with a solid diverse range and style reflected in the maturity they now bring.
2018 June sees the release of their new album Say Yes to Life, with Bless Up Music's Israel Starr in the executive producer's seat. Israel was the recipient of the 2017 Vodafone Music Award for Best Roots Artist.
