Debuted as MIO in 1982 with the insert song "HEY YOU" in the anime Battle Mecha Xabungle. She won the Animage Grand Prix Best Female Singer Award, and since then she has sung numerous anime songs, commercial songs, and game software theme songs. In 2009, she participated in the Gundam 30th Anniversary ``Ai Senshi Tribute Album'' and covered her famous song ``Ai Senshi''. In 2011, she released ``MIO (MIQ) Perfect Best'' and ``Tottori Senshi Succeun's Theme -MIQ ver.-''. She is the member of the red group in the anime song Kohaku. In 2012, to mark the 30th anniversary of her debut, her original album reissues ``STARLIGHT SHOWER'' and ``Mr.Monday Morning'' were released. In 2014, she sang the theme song "Build up TRYAGE" for the arcade card game "Gundam Try Age BUILD-G". To commemorate her 40th debut anniversary in 2024, a concert will be held in Tokyo and Osaka.
