LOBSTER is a post-punk/rock band founded out of Tokyo in September 2021. With an average age of 21, the band is comprised of five members who hail from Japan and the US: Yoshinao (vox.), Niwano (gt.), Ian (gt.), Yuki(ba.) and Hide (dr.). Students at a fashion institute just two years ago, the members who assembled through Yoshinao's invitation chose to leave school to pursue music. The band's musical roots coming from the UK's post punk and rock scene, these influences can be found on display throughout their discography. Seeking fortune not just in Japan but abroad as well, the band looks to a more international presence with their all-English lyrics, their goal to go from underground to overground on an international level. They seek to create a sound the likes of which has never been heard from a Japanese band. Based in Tokyo, in 2022 alone they played over 50 shows and remain very active in the scene. Calling on their many connections to the fashion and art world, all of the artwork that the band features is created by their close friends.
