Kimi kusanagiI live in Ishigaki and Taketomi Islands and learn the sanshin while working as a water buffalo cart guide. In 2007, I won the highest award at the Yaeyama Classic Folk Song Amuro-ryu Kyowakai. I studied under Yoshihiro Urasaki. I perform live shows arranging Yaeyama and Okinawa folk songs, mainly original songs using Okinawan sanshin. In 2015, I released my first album, "Hanakaze," co-produced by Kazuhiko Chino, a producer who also works with SMAP, and Hirokazu Uramoto of COSELL creative studio. In 2016, I released my second album, "Kesaketa Honoo ni Kaze ga Fukuita Nara," nationwide through Voice Beat OZ-Label. It was distributed on Karaoke JOY SOUND. The promotional video was aired on TV Tokyo in August and September of the same year, and I am currently performing live shows nationwide, mainly in Naha and Tokyo. This fall, they plan to release their third album, Shima no Oto, co-produced by Hiromasa Yamakawa, bassist of THE BOOM, and Ryuta Ishigaki, guitarist and vocalist of Strike Company. Past event appearances include Okinawa Festival, Menso-re Festa, Haisai Festa, Kawasaki Asian Music Exchange Festival, Okinawa Champuru Carnival, and Taipei J-POP Summer Festival. Aside from their musical activities, they also work on Okinawa's traditional culture of bingata dyeing.
