Kino KatoKino Kato began her musical career in 2014. In 2015, she won the Nagoya Grand Prix at the 9th Music Revolution.
With a guitar style that evokes percussive rhythms, she continues to release songs that portray the absurdities of everyday life and discomfort with society, expressed through sharp irony and humor.
Traveling alone to London, the Czech Republic, and Paris, she actively pursued live performances abroad. Her one-man show in Paris sold out, marking a significant milestone. In addition, through three months of busking, she cultivated a truly unique form of expression and performance.
In 2021, she founded her independent label, Onikko Label.
In 2025, she performed at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL as part of ROOKIE A GO-GO.
The name "Kino Kato"originates from her childhood nickname "Kinoko" (meaning "mushroom"), which she was called due to her bowl haircut in elementary school. Retaining "Kino" from that nickname and combining it with her former surname "Kato,"she adopted the name as her artist identity.
