Jun FutamataJun Futamata is a Japan-based composer and singer known for her distinctive compositional style, crafting one-of-a-kind sonic landscapes through intricate layers of voice.
After moving alone to New York, she immersed herself in the study of improvisational methods and harmonic progressions, performing at local jazz clubs and collaborating with accomplished musicians. These experiences formed the foundation of her unique approach to composition and arrangement.
Upon returning to Japan, Jun expanded her work across film, television, anime, games, commercials, and theatrical productions. Her credits include the music for the EXPO 2025 OSAKA,KANSAI "Sumitomo Pavilion", arrangement and vocals for "FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH", and original scores for TV-series such as "The Right to Judge", "A Suffocatingly Lonely Death" and "TV Journalist" She has also contributed vocals to "Pokémon", "My Hero Academia", and film soundtracks including "Enemy", "Love's Disease", "Sing a Bit of Harmony", and "Paradise Kiss".
In 2024, she released her second album "When Your Bones Turn Into Opal", recorded in Iceland. Following this, she embarked on a European tour in 2025, earning critical acclaim both domestically and internationally, with the album reaching No.1 on multiple charts.
Futamata continues to explore new frontiers of sound, seamlessly blending elements of post-classical, ambient, electronica, and contemporary classical music into an ever-evolving artistic language.
