Her name originates from Southern All Stars' 'Ellie my love' After graduating from Tokyo Woman's Christian University, she began pursuing expressive activities while working at a planning company and attending music and acting schools. During her first live performance with a Tokyo Jihen cover band, she was discovered by Chicco Soma, one of Japan's premier funk drummers, leading her to start her career as a singer.She formed the music unit 'CABARET I Still Wanna Party!' with her friend Kimrie, singing and dancing about relatable experiences of women in their late twenties, and performed at 'Yatsui Fes 2016'. In 2018, under the musical production of Suzuki Yasuyoshi, known for TV drama theme songs, she released 'Uttorishichau,' her first self-written and composed song, launching her career as singer-songwriter 'Taguchi Eri.' In 2020, she planned and hosted a program on RainbowtownFM where songs were created from personal episodes. In 2024, she released her 1st album 'Hitotsu' digitally. Produced by Gaku Ninomiya, who achieved #1 on the global official indie charts, the album represents the culmination of her six-year career. It sings of worlds expanding from the small 'one thing' in daily life. Her song 'Floss before you sleep' a love song with a message about cavity prevention, aired on FM Yokohama, gaining attention for its addictive quality that makes listeners hum it after just one listen. Inspired by the main visual for illustrator Natsuki Minami's solo exhibition 'Overflowing,' known for her captivating illustrations based on the concept of 'happiness seen with the eyes' and supported by many celebrities, Gaku Ninomiya collaborated with her to create the song 'Smile for you / Joy.' In 2025, with GIAN who handled the Shinjuku Isetan 90th Anniversary theme and LUMINE commercials as music producer, they released 'Life is a Journey.' The song, co-written and composed with singer/actress Rinako Ochi, draws from the emotional landscapes witnessed during a journey to a foreign land. The music video was fully produced and shot by photographer Shinsuke Yasui, known for his work as the official photographer for Ebizo Ichikawa (now DANJORO) and YOASOBI, and for his photographic style emphasizing a strong 'live feel.' She is expanding her scope of activities, including producing collaborative works with multi-talented artists.In 2026, she produced her 2nd album.
