Artist Profile

AMI OGAERIBorn in Tokyo in 1991, Ami Ogaeri began her piano studies at the age of four. She graduated from the Department of Composition at Tokyo University of the Arts. In August 2016, she released her original composition Two Pieces (Futatsu no Shohin) on bassoonist Koji Okazakis album. In October of the same year, she composed the score for the film Shiori (directed by Yusuke Sakakibara) and has since been actively involved in various fields, with a primary focus on film music. In 2023, she composed the soundtrack for the widely discussed jazz-themed film Between the White Key and the Black Key (Hakken to Kokken no Aida ni). Her passionate performances and exceptional musical sensibilities in the film have garnered significant attention from various quarters. To date, she has released four full-length albums: Hashigo wo Dakishimeru (Ami Ogaeri Trio, 2018), Ami Ogaeri & May Inoue (2022), Terasu (Ami Ogaeri Trio, 2024), and Ami Ogaeri & May Inoue II (2026). She is an up-and-coming jazz pianist currently making her mark across multiple creative disciplines.
